Occasely vs Publer
Publer takes content you already have and gets it out, across more networks than we support. Occasely does the deciding: give it an occasion and the run-up comes back planned, written and dated.
The short answer
The real difference is where each tool picks up the work. Publer is a very good distribution machine. It takes posts you have already thought of and gets them out — to more networks than we support, in bulk, on a repeating schedule, at a price that has made it the word-of-mouth pick among budget-conscious small businesses. Its AI helps at the caption. Occasely starts before the caption exists: you name an occasion, and it returns a dated multi-post arc — teaser, build-up, offer, last day — with every post written. That difference cuts both ways. We plan better; Publer publishes wider and measures more. If you already know what to post and need it everywhere, Publer is the better buy. If the reason nothing went out during Diwali week or Black Friday is that nobody sat down and planned it, that is the problem we built for. One more thing worth weighing: Publer has years of customer reviews behind it, and Occasely is pre-launch, in private beta.
What Publer is genuinely good at
Feature density for the money
Publer's reputation is built on price-to-feature ratio, and it is deserved. At the time we researched this (July 2026), third-party breakdowns put a five-account small business on its Business tier at roughly $21-35/mo, with a 4.8/5 Trustpilot score behind it. Very few tools give you that much for that little.
A wider channel list than ours
Publer publishes to YouTube, Mastodon and WordPress, which Occasely does not, and posts TikTok video, where our TikTok posts are photos only. It is one of the two broadest network lists in this whole category, and it also covers Telegram, which most global tools skip, and Google Business Profile.
Bulk scheduling and evergreen queues
CSV bulk scheduling of up to 500 posts at a time, plus recycling queues that keep evergreen content rotating without you touching it. If you have a content library and the job is throughput, this is exactly the machine for it. Occasely has no recycling queue.
Unlimited AI on the Business tier
Almost every tool in this category rations AI by credits. Publer's Business tier does not, and that includes its AI images. Occasely's text generation is unlimited on paid plans, but our image generation is metered by credits — so on images, Publer's cost is the more predictable of the two.
Where Occasely is the better fit
The campaign is the unit, not the post
Occasely decides what you are posting, not just how it is worded. Name an occasion — Diwali, Black Friday, Eid, Christmas — and it plans the arc across the run-up: teaser, build-up, offer, last day. Every post written, every post dated, ready to edit. Publer's AI starts at the caption. Ours starts at the calendar.
18 language styles, including Hinglish
Hinglish, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese, generated in that register rather than converted into it. Our research across nine global schedulers found none treating Indic languages or Hinglish as a first-class feature.
Google reviews, not just Google posts
Publer publishes to Google Business Profile today. Occasely's Google Business posting and review replies are built and waiting on Google's API approval; once they open, reviews sync, the AI drafts a reply in your voice, and nothing goes live until you approve it. For a business whose customers arrive through Maps, answering the review matters as much as posting.
A price you can work out in your head
Publer's own reviewers call its modular pricing hard to estimate: a base price, plus per-account add-ons, plus per-member add-ons. Occasely is $19/mo for Growth or $39/mo for Pro. Channels are included in the plan — six on Growth, twelve on Pro. No per-seat math, no per-channel math.
Side by side
| Dimension | Occasely | Publer |
|---|---|---|
| What the AI actually does | Name an occasion; it plans a teaser-to-last-day arc and writes every post, dated. | Captions, hashtags, AI images and post variations. Unlimited AI on the Business tier. |
| Channels you can publish to | Twelve built. Open today: LinkedIn profiles, Telegram, Bluesky, Discord, TikTok (photos), Pinterest, Reddit. Coming soon: Instagram, Facebook, Google Business, X, Threads. | Adds YouTube, Mastodon, WordPress and TikTok video. |
| Analytics | Delivery only: published, queued, failed. No reach, engagement or follower data. | Post-level analytics on the Business tier. Reviewers still call it the weak spot. |
| Pricing shape | Flat $19 or $39 a month. Channels sit inside the plan. No per-seat, no per-channel. | Base price plus per-account and per-member add-ons, as researched in July 2026. |
| Bulk and evergreen | No recycling queue. Every campaign is planned fresh for the occasion. | CSV bulk scheduling up to 500 posts, plus recycling and evergreen queues. |
| Languages | 18 language styles: Hinglish, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese. | AI captions; our research found no first-class Hinglish or Indic-language support. |
| Agent access | MCP server: Claude Code, Cursor and others queue drafts. They cannot publish. | Official MCP on Business and Enterprise (Sept 2026): agents can schedule posts and read analytics inside Publer. |
When to pick Publer instead
- Your audience is on YouTube, Mastodon, WordPress or TikTok video. Publer publishes to all of them; Occasely does not (our TikTok posts are photos only). Decide on what exists today, not on anyone's roadmap.
- You need to know how posts performed. Publer's analytics are its most-criticized feature — post-level only, no demographics, no competitor benchmarks — and they are still more than Occasely has. We report delivery only: published, queued, failed. If a performance report is what you hand a client, pick Publer.
- You run ten to fifteen accounts, or you have a content library to keep in rotation. Publer's per-account pricing scales gently, its bulk upload takes 500 posts at a time, and its evergreen queues recycle them. Occasely tops out at twelve channels on Pro and has no recycling.
If the occasion is the part you keep missing
Describe your business once. Occasely plans the arc for every occasion that matters to it, writes each post for the channel it is going to, and holds the queue until you approve.
Questions
- Which one is cheaper?
- It depends entirely on how many accounts you run, and Publer's pricing is modular, so there is no single answer. At the time we researched this (July 2026), third-party breakdowns put a five-account setup on Publer's Business tier at roughly $21-35/mo — close to Occasely's $19/mo Growth plan, which includes six channels. Publer's price then climbs with each extra account and each extra member; ours steps only at plan boundaries. Both tools have a free tier: Publer's covers three accounts (not X) with a cap on pending posts; ours covers two channels and 10 AI generations a month. Publer's pricing moves over time, so check publer.com/plans before you decide anything on these numbers.
- Does Occasely publish to TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest?
- TikTok (photo posts) and Pinterest, yes; YouTube, no. Occasely has twelve channels built. You can connect LinkedIn (personal profiles), Telegram, Bluesky, Discord, TikTok (photo posts), Pinterest and Reddit today. Instagram, Facebook and Threads are waiting on Meta's app review; Google Business Profile is waiting on Google's API approval; X is coming soon. YouTube, Mastodon, Snapchat and WhatsApp are not supported. Publer covers YouTube, Mastodon and TikTok video, plus WordPress. Neither of us publishes to WhatsApp or Snapchat, and Reddit was not on Publer's list when we researched it. If YouTube, Mastodon or TikTok video is where your customers actually are, Publer is the right tool.
- Publer's analytics get criticized. Is Occasely's better?
- No — ours is narrower. Occasely reports delivery only: which posts published, which are queued, which failed, per network, with a readable reason on every failure. Temporary failures are retried up to 3 times, and a post that may already have gone out is never retried, so nothing posts twice. There is no follower growth, no engagement, no reach and no impressions data in Occasely today. Publer's post-level analytics, even as its weakest feature, tell you more about performance than we do. We would rather say that plainly than have you find out after switching.
- Can I move my Publer queue over?
- Not in bulk. Occasely has no CSV import and no recycling library, so a scheduled backlog does not transfer. The realistic path is to reconnect your channels and start with one occasion — pick the next one on your calendar, let Occasely plan and write the arc, and compare it with what you would have queued by hand. Our occasion calendar at /tools/occasion-calendar is public and free if you want to see the planning side before signing up. If your whole workflow is a rotating evergreen library, that is a genuine reason to stay on Publer.
- Is Occasely's AI unlimited, like Publer's Business tier?
- Text is, images are not. On Growth and Pro, Occasely writes unlimited posts and captions — no credits, no per-post metering. AI image generation in Creative Studio is metered by credits. Publer's Business tier does not meter its AI at all, so on images it is the more predictable of the two. Campaign counts are the other limit worth knowing: occasion campaigns start on Growth, which plans two a month, and Pro is unlimited.
