Occasely vs Sprout Social
Sprout Social is the reporting and listening suite mid-market teams standardize on. Occasely works from the other end — an occasion goes in, a dated campaign comes back written. Different jobs, and the price gap between them is not an accident.
The short answer
Sprout Social is a measurement and engagement platform that also publishes. Occasely is a campaign generator that also publishes. Sprout's core value is what comes back after the post goes out: cross-network reporting, competitor insight, a consolidated inbox, listening, and a 2026 analysis agent called Trellis. Ours is what happens before the post exists: you name an occasion and get a dated multi-post arc, written for each channel, ready to schedule. That difference shows up in the price. When we researched Sprout in July 2026, its entry Essentials tier ran $99 a month per seat, or $79 per seat on annual billing, and every extra person costs another full seat. Occasely is $19 or $39 a month flat, and there is nothing to multiply it by. If your job is proving performance to a client or a board, Sprout is better at that than anything else in this category, and Occasely is not a substitute for it: our analytics show delivery only. If your job is getting good Diwali, Ramadan or Black Friday posts out on time and nobody is asking you for a share-of-voice report, you are paying Sprout for a department you do not have.
What Sprout Social is genuinely good at
Reporting is genuinely best-in-class
Cross-network reports, competitor insights on Professional, team reports on Advanced. This is the reason Sprout costs what it costs, and it is the strongest reason on this page to pick them over us. Occasely has nothing comparable and is not trying to.
One inbox for every network
Sprout's consolidated inbox arrived at the Standard tier when we researched it, with message tagging on Professional and sentiment on Advanced. If your real problem is the volume of DMs, comments and mentions coming in, that is a Sprout problem, not an Occasely one. Our only inbox is Engage, for Instagram comments and DMs, in early access.
Listening, with an agent built for it
Sprout's AI leans to the analysis side: AI-assisted listening and sentiment, ViralPost send-time optimization, and Trellis, a listening agent introduced in 2026. It reads the conversation rather than producing content. Occasely does no listening, no sentiment and no monitoring.
A mature product with an organization behind it
Polished UX, white-glove onboarding and SSO at the Enterprise tier, and years of procurement history with mid-market and agency buyers. Occasely is pre-launch and in private beta. If you need vendor stability on a signed contract this year, that is a real point in Sprout's favor.
Where Occasely is the better fit
You name an occasion, not a post
Type Diwali, Black Friday, Eid or Christmas and Occasely returns the full arc: teaser, build-up, offer, last day, each post written and dated. Sprout's calendar assumes you arrive with the plan; ours produces it. That is the whole reason Occasely exists.
The price does not scale with anything
Sprout is priced per seat, and cost is the complaint reviewers raise most consistently about it on G2 and Trustpilot, along with annual contract terms worth reading before you sign. Occasely is Free, $19 or $39 a month, flat, with no per-seat and no per-channel math. Annual costs ten months and is optional.
18 language styles, including Hinglish
Hinglish, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese, chosen per workspace before a word is generated. Sprout's AI Assist enhances copy you have already written rather than producing it from a brief.
Your coding agent can work in the queue
Occasely ships an MCP server, so Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, Gemini CLI or Windsurf can read the workspace and queue drafts. Agents cannot publish and cannot spend an image credit; a human still approves.

When to pick Sprout Social instead
- You are measured on engagement, reach or share of voice. Occasely reports delivery only — published, queued, failed, per network. There is no follower growth, no engagement and no impressions data. If you have to prove performance to a client or a board, Sprout does that better than anything else in this category and you should buy it.
- YouTube, WhatsApp or TikTok video matter to your plan. Sprout covers them; Occasely publishes no video and no WhatsApp, and our TikTok posts are photos only. We would rather you find that out on this page than after you have connected accounts.
- Incoming volume is the actual job — DMs, comments and mentions across several networks that need tagging, assignment and a sentiment read. Sprout's consolidated inbox is built for exactly that team. Our only inbox is Engage, for Instagram comments and DMs, in early access; across other networks the only replies we handle are Google Business reviews, once Google approves our API access.
If the occasion is the part you keep missing
Describe your business once. Occasely plans the arc for every occasion that matters to it, writes each post for the channel it is going to, and holds the queue until you approve.
Questions
- How much does Sprout Social cost compared to Occasely?
- When we researched Sprout's pricing page in July 2026, the tiers ran Essentials at $99 a month per seat ($79 on annual billing), Standard at $199 per seat, Professional at $299 per seat, Advanced at $399 per seat, and Enterprise on quote. Every extra user is another full seat, so team size is the dominant cost variable. Prices change, so check Sprout's own pricing page rather than trusting this one. Occasely is Free, $19 a month for Growth or $39 a month for Pro, in USD worldwide, with no per-seat and no per-channel charge. Occasion campaigns start on Growth.
- Does Occasely do the analytics and listening Sprout is known for?
- No, and this is the honest gap. Occasely's analytics are delivery only: which posts published, which are queued, which failed, per network, with a readable failure reason. Temporary failures are retried up to 3 times, and a post that may already have gone out is never retried, so nothing posts twice. There is no follower growth, no engagement, no reach, no impressions, no competitor tracking, no sentiment and no listening. If those are what you are shopping for, Sprout is the better tool.
- Which channels would I lose if I moved from Sprout to Occasely?
- Occasely has twelve channels built. You can connect LinkedIn (personal profiles), Telegram, Bluesky, Discord, TikTok (photo posts), Pinterest and Reddit today. Instagram, Facebook and Threads are waiting on Meta's app review; Google Business Profile is waiting on Google's API approval; X is coming soon. LinkedIn Pages are not supported. Compared with Sprout you would lose YouTube, TikTok video and WhatsApp, and, until they open, the channels above that are still waiting on approval, and gain Telegram and Discord, which Sprout does not publish to. Sprout also publishes to Google Business Profile and Bluesky. Discord goes out through a channel webhook, so those posts come back without a permalink. The practical question is usually whether YouTube or TikTok video is load-bearing. How many you connect at once depends on plan: two on Free, six on Growth, twelve on Pro.
- What does occasion-first actually mean in practice?
- You type an occasion — Diwali, Black Friday, Eid, Christmas, or anything from the global calendar at /tools/occasion-calendar — and Occasely returns a planned arc rather than a single caption: a teaser, build-up posts, the offer, a last-day push. Each post is written for the channel it will go to, in your brand voice and your chosen language style, with a date attached. You edit and approve, then it schedules. In Sprout you would plan that arc yourself in the calendar and use AI Assist to polish the copy once it is written.
- Is Occasely ready to use today?
- Occasely is pre-launch and in private beta. We have no customer counts, testimonials or awards to show you, and we are not going to invent any. Publishing works on every channel you can connect, campaign generation works on Growth and Pro, and every publish attempt is logged with a readable reason when it fails. Instagram, Facebook and Threads are waiting on Meta's app review; Google Business Profile is waiting on Google's API approval; X is coming soon. Sprout is a mature product with a support organization and enterprise onboarding behind it. If low vendor risk is a requirement this year, that difference is real and it favors them.
